How to Use Matrix Calculator

Matrix Format

Enter matrices using the format: values separated by commas, rows separated by semicolons

Example: 1,2,3;4,5,6;7,8,9 creates a 3×3 matrix

Operations

  • Matrix Addition: Add corresponding elements of two matrices of the same size
  • Matrix Multiplication: Multiply two matrices (columns of first must equal rows of second)
  • Scalar Multiplication: Multiply each element of a matrix by a scalar value

Rules

  • For addition: matrices must have the same dimensions
  • For multiplication: number of columns in first matrix must equal number of rows in second matrix
  • All elements should be numeric values
